Actually, C/D's May 93 test of four 'Red, rapid, sports cars' ranked the 
Capri in XR2 (i.e. Tubo) trim to be a surprising performer, wasting the
competition on backroads.  But then they went on about how it looked, poor
build quality, weird structural integrity, and other negatives.  In the
end, it was Miata that was named 'the modern embodiment of driving fun.' 
Go figure...:)
