OK guys, heres a good one that I havent been able to find an answer to 
(at least the one I want!).  

A really good friend of mine would dearly love to own a Miata (he does 
autocross among other things).  His problem is that he is too big.  He is 
6'5 and weighs around 350.  We have investigated removing the seat from 
the slide bars and mounting it directly to the floor, but in looking in 
the shop manual, it looks like it will only gain 1/4-1/2" of clearance.  
The only other option at this point is to cut off 2" of his leg, and hes 
not all that hot on that!  

The space problem is that he cant get enough clearance on his left 
knee/foot to shift.

Any ideas?  Anyone encountered this one?  I just refuse to believe he 
cant have a Miata just because he is too tall!
