Subject: MIALITES - Recommendation & Installation Suggestion

MIALITEs turned out to be a super product and well worth the cost.

MIALITES are a pair of small interior lights that fit exactly into the
space occupied by the removable blanks on either side of the
transmission tunnel.  MIATA magazine lauded them for their factory-like 
(OEM)  appearance.

I bought a set about a month or two ago and finally got them installed
yesterday.  Only problem was waiting for night come to really see how
they worked -- WOW!!

While the instruction are quite clear and involve only ordinary tools,
I took it to be installed professionally.

For $18.50 I had them installed by an Auto Electric Shop here in
Colorado Springs (ANTLERS AUTO ELECTRIC).  They installed them in about
1/2 hour.  The guy that did it changed the little blue connector out
for one that he preferred.  The stock one is easier to work with for
amateurs apparently.  

Unless you are handy and/or confident in messing with such things I
recommend an auto electric shop.  You will usually find them in some
awful part of town in a little greasy garage surrounded by old/junked
cars.  After all  most people visiting an auto electric shop have
burned out electrical wiring or other bad problems. But they really
know their stuff and do not charge a lot.  Get a recommendation from a
mechanic or a parts shop -- they usually know who is good.  These guys
that I went to were recommended by at least three people.

Anyway, night finally came and the MIALITEs really do a super job. 
Those of your with pre- '94(?)  models have two factory lights in the
car, but for those of us with later models, the driver's side light is
now the control for the remote mirrors.  I had gotten pretty good at
finding the keyhole in the dark (had it down to less than 30 seconds)
but am relieved now with the MIALITEs not to have to endure that
hassle.

I really recommend this product: (I have no connection other than as a
