Did I miss this thread?  While driving yesterday I hit the turn signal stalk 
to pass someone (not a rare event) and accidently pulled back on it.  Up 
pops the headlights!  When I got home I checked it out--the lights stay on 
as long as you pull back on the stalk, and the doors close by themselves a 
few seconds after you release it.

And I was finally going to do the "diode" thing this weekend.
