This happened to my 93 and the dealer fixed it under warranty.  Actually,
first they tried glueing the strips back onto the top, but they came
loose again.  I took it back and they sent it out to an upholstery 
place to be sewn on.  No problems anymore.

I'd press your dealer to take care of it.
