>From a very happy first-time owner ('95 Montego Blue Automatic) who is 
ecstatic to have learned about all of the Miata internet information. The 
weekly  "Miata Mailing List" has been most informative for my first month of 
subscription; however, I'm a bit perplexed as to why there has been so much 
"personal" talk (the "wreck") - I understand that the "List" is "open 
forum", but, coming from an uninitiated, isn't there another/better way for 
the personal stuff to be transacted?

So much for the soapbox; I would appreciate some assistance with the 
following:
1. I've noticed a very definite amount of heat being emitted from within the 
console. When wearing shorts, it's especially noticeable when the right leg 
is resting against the console. Is the heat a common thing, and, if so, is 
there any reasonable way to reduce the heat?

2. How strong is the windshield frame? How much protection is afforded by it 
in the case of, heaven forbid, a roll?

3. What are the dimensions of the homemade windscreens that some owners have 
made in lieu of the after-market products, and what are the basic 
installation instructions?

4. Someone mentioned using Dynamat Super in the doors to eliminate the 
speaker vibrations and noise, but what/where is a "Crutchfield" as a source 
of the Dynamat? Are there other sources?

5. What products are recommended for cleaning/protecting the (a) dashboard 
and related interior areas, (b) body, (c) rag top, and (d) wheels?

6. Are there some compelling reasons to remove the rear hooks, as they 
provide a wonderful base for hooking a trunk strap?
