Well, Kansei recently encountered the Dread Heat Shield Rattle. Exhaust system would buzz at around 4100 to 4400 rpm (this seems to be a resonant rpm range for the exhaust anyway). I took a look under the car today, pounded, tapped, and shook everything, and the only thing I noticed which was out of the ordinary was a small rock protruding from one of the vent holes on the bottom of the cat. converter heat shield. I pried it out (and pried the shield further away from the cat. converter, where speed bumps had pushed it up a bit), and voila, no more vibration. EZ fix, if your heat shields in other locations are in good shape and not causing the problem. --Jack M. & KANSEi--
