I put in two quarts of Redline MTL this weekend. Not a hard job at all. Read on if you want to hear my comments. -With only 5K miles on the car, the gear oil looked pretty dirty. Perhaps black is its natural color? Are metal shavings on the magnetic drain plug normal? -The job would be very hard without a pump. I bought a syringe type plunger pump. It looks like the big hypo's that you see in cartoons and holds a pint. Four squirts filled up the gearbox in less than 3 minutes. -Buy 3 quarts, even though the article in the MCA magazine got by with 2. Unless you have a pump that can squirt to the last drop, you could be a bit low. So how does it work for me? Mixed reviews. -My shifter originally had a bad 1st-2nd shift when cold. Hard to describe. Sort of like wiggling a drumstick on a frozen turkey? Now the action is about the same cold or hot. It's better, but there's still a small "catch" halfwat thru the shift. -The remaining gears feel crisp. So I would agree that Redline MTL helps, but maybe not as spectacularly as it has for other people. More importantly, the car didn't fall off the jackstands and crush anyone. Those things still scare me. Harry Sue Naperville, IL
