Hawk makes 'carbotic' (composite metallic) racing brake pads. Hawk 'Blacks' are their model for high tempurature road racing pads. They get up to temperature between 400-900 degrees F. They will squeek on the street until you make a couple of stops from speed to warm them up. The advantage of the 'blacks' is that they are already burninshed so you do not have to follow a tedious break in procedure. They are priced $46.59 rear and $53.25 front from Essex. 1-404-889-4096. PBC also sells Hawk if I remember correctly. I installed them on the rear to make the brake bias more equal for autocrossing. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: Brake clips Author: ccheung@lsil.com (Cyrus Cheung - 6102) at internet Date: 7/6/95 1:37 PM > > > > OEM Miata front pads are about $50 from the dealerships that advertise in the > MCA magazine. If so, it is really cheap because PBC sells them for $89. How do I reach Essex? Thanks a lot.
