Try using something like a hammer handle (not the business end) to tap around with. One end of this shield is already clamped. The other end is retained by spot welds to the exhaust pipe. It's these spot welds that break, causing the rattle. This is the end where people clamp. The heat shield on my car began rattling long before I was on the list, so not knowing any better, I just removed it altogether. This was after three trips to the dealership and having the WRONG PART replaced, AFTER I showed them what the problem was. They replaced the big upper shield that covers the header.
