But what are the best choices for } every-day driving on roads that are often wet, slippery, cold-temperature, } and (yes) sometimes snowy? Is Dunlop D60 all-weather tire the best choice? The D60/A2 has GREAT wet performance for the first few thousand miles, and then deteriorates somewhat. Not even close to as bad as OEM Yokohamas, though. 4. What other advice do Miata owners have for minimizing the likelihood of an experience like Sharon's? (or worse...) Well, OEM tires (they ALL seem to do badly in the rain) plus wet brakes are a nasty combination. Resist the temptation to exit one highway and enter another without at least using your brakes in the deceleration lane. The half-second or so of NOTHING you get when using wet brakes on at least some Miatas will throw your timing off in an emergency situation, if brakes are called for. Oh, and as for MUDDFLAPP -- he better watch his Miata real carefully, or one day he may wake up and find it replaced with a Volvo station wagon. DIESEL.
