To Drew Lindberg, et.al.: Just read your response on the 'Net about drilling holes in sheet metal to PULL out dents. This method IS NOT PAINTLESS DENT REMOVAL (PDR) !! Obviously, the hole has to be repaired and this involves painting. PDR is a just what the title implies: removing small dents and dings WITHOUT the need to do any repainting. The process involves the use of many different sizes of metal "wands" and styluses that the dent "wizard" uses to SLOWLY work out the dent from the back side of the sheet metal panel. This is a slow, iterative, painstaking process that pays off big dividends in the end. The integity of the original factory finish is maintained, and the process is faster and cheaper than body shop work. Our local Club held an Aftermarket and Accessory Installation Day earlier this year at a local Mazda dealership. One of our invited guests was our local PDR vendor called "The Dent Guy". He was an absolute magician in removing dents, even in the Miata's aluminum hood. When he was done, no one could tell where the dent had been. Unlike some PDR companies, The Dent Guy only charges by the panel, not by the dent. (Obviously, the original dent cannot have creased or substantially stretched the sheet metal or broken the paint surface.) Cheers, DRAKE A.
