Till your daddy makes you put your top down when you just combed your hair, when you have allergies, when you're only going out for five minutes, when it's too hot, when it's too cold, when it's just right, etc. Geez, I guess I touched a nerve with a few of you top-up-on-nice-days folks. Oh well, to each his own. *MY* top's down pretty much year round, unless it's really cold out (like below 20 degrees) or it's pouring down rain. Ever since I was a little kid I've dreamed of someday driving a two-seater roadster. Part of that dream was driving sans top. Hell, that's the main reason I bought a Miata in the first place. It's so damned much fun to drive with the wind (be that hot wind, cold wind, or somewhere-in-between wind) blowing in my face. I still can't understand why anyone would buy a Miata and drive it with the top up when it's nice out, no matter what the reasons are. But that's just me. If you disagree with me, and think I'm a total jerk for saying that, that's cool. I'll just have to purge you from the mailing list when Andy hands the reigns of power over to me (hey, I'm only kidding about that last part!!!! :) ) Actually, my original "mystery" post was an honest question asking people to explain why tops are up. I had no intention of starting a flame war, nor of offending people, nor of starting a top-up vs. top-down debate. I was just curious. After all these posts, I still don't understand the top up mentality. Mike Lastort '93 Top down >90% of the time blue PS - today's count at 75 degrees F and sunny - 3 Miatae, all with top up.
