[...] Why in the hell would anyone buy such an awesome > roadster, and decide to keep the top up when the weather is perfect > for top-down driving? I don't know about anyone else, but I *never* drive top-down on the way to work in the morning, no matter what the weather. But, I DO drive top-down coming back from work, and at practically ALL other times, regardless of the weather (even in light rain!). For me, it's not an issue of "messing up my hair", it's just a matter of mood. In the morning on the way to work, I'm still waking up and mentally adjusting to the depressing thought of going in to work instead of doing something fun (like staying home and mowing the lawn?), so I like to leave the lid on, play some relatively relaxing music, and leave the noise and wind outside. After work, off comes the lid, and on go the rock-n-roll CDs... About the only other exception is sometimes around noontime when i'm stuck in stop-and-go traffic under the blazing sun with no cooling breeze, sometimes i'll put the lid up but leave the back window and side windows open, just as a sun shade. -- Sounds like it's time to post my latest convertible-usage statistics. The numbers below represent days of actual top-down use. Non-use days are generally caused by snow/rain or else didn't happen to drive anywhere that day. Jan/Feb and parts of Mar/Dec are hardtop months.
