Paul Thompson writes of insuring his primary (I assume so, anyway) driver - his Miata - as his "weekend/recreational" vehicle w/State Farm. I also have State Farm, and checked into various ways of cutting the insurance on our infrequently driven Datsun Z Car. The problem with any specialty insurance is that no insurance co. of which I am aware, will cover a loss if the specialty car is in an accident while commuting. Hence, I have standard coverage on our Z, even though it's used on the drive to work maybe once every 2 - 3 months. Another point: At least State Farm will not provide any "stated value" coverage. I have an appraisal on the Z, but I'd probably have a hell of a time getting the amount for which the car was appraised out of them, if the car were totaled. Why don't I switch companies? Because I can't find anything better. I've looked. --Jack M. & KANSEI--
