Subject: Where to *buy* radar detector?

        Since driving a Red Miata is like waving a Red Sports Car in front
of a bull and since I have Cincinatti Microwave's original offering, it
just could be time to upgrade my detector. Technology, though, has run off
and left me in the dust.

        Who makes the best one out there these days. I'm vaguely aware that
X & K band no longer cuts it. Nowadays, I guess, they are looking at us
with lasers, X-rays, and Gamma rays. Is the guy who left C.M. still on top
of the heap? What about the Valentine thing that I've heard good things
about? The little bit of ad reading I've done seems to say that 360 degree
coverage is the minimum you should accept. But what about them Bears in the
Air and the wires in the concrete?

        Seriously, though, I would appreciate thought from you detector
experts out there. Keep in mind, though, that Radar Detectors are illegal
in Virginia right along (and, I'm not making this up) oral s*x (even among
consenting marital partners!) so it has to be small . . . the radar
detector, that is.
