The procedure for removing the air bag is in the shop manual (I don't have it
with me at the moment or I'd summarize).  Of special note is all the warnings
-- disconnect the battery first, don't use an ohmmeter near the airbag
(test current might set it off), don't hold it facing you, etc -- makes
you wonder if you really want that explosive device facing you as you sit in
the car...
