They are plastic popups, but they are threaded as screws.  It can be a
bit of a hassle to get them off.  What I've done with these is to
screw them out, but with _very_ gentle pressure on the screwdriver.
If you press on the screwdriver as with normal screws, the plastic
threads just slip and it doesn't come out.
