Andy Cork is working on an idea to put a short shifter with a Voodoo Knob
without the neck (like 250 GTO) and a metal gate. You might give him a call
again to see what is happening with that project.

BTW, shortening the shifter doesn't happen at the top of the shaft, but
below the fulcrum point.
