I've been hearing so much about the virtues of Redline in Miata transmissions lthat I gave up and put some in this afternoon. (I've had Amsoil 75W-90) in both the transmission and differential for the last 40K miles.) Result? I can't see any difference at all. Or, more to the point, I can't feel any difference at all. Maybe when I gete back from my cross-country jaunt, I'll report back and tell you that a difference did show up over time. What precipitated all this was that I installed the Short Throw Shifter earlier in the week and noticed that, to a small degree, the shifting process seemed a bit more, abrupt probably describes as well as any. Which, when you think about it, is the point of the exercise. With a slightly decreased amount of leverage in the shifting process, the shift itself seemed more apparent. Certainly not disturbing or unpleasant, just... different. Anyway, five miles after the change, I haven't noticed anything new. Amsoil costs a little less and is probably available at a few more places, but who can say? Frank Potter MEOWTA - 1993 Black/Red LE #290
