Mazda has only changed the computer and the flywheel on the Miata for 
1996, it's not like they dropped the engine.

Just look under the hood of any Mazda Protege (1990-95 & 1995 and on) 
model, Ford Escort GT & LXE (1990-95), or Mercury Tracer LTS (1990-91?).  
They have been using it for some time now.

You can still by parts for RX-3's (1973) easily at my dealer, so I 
would't lose sleep over it Peter.
