I'm with you, Jay.  It seems when I drive Wendy I don't see that many
other Miatas to wave at, but when I drive the SE-R (sorry) or the truck
(even sorrier) I'm flashing my brights at Miatas all over the place--
it's an instinctive reaction by now to use my diode-headlight-wave upon
seeing a Miata, even when I'm not in mine!

Yesterday afternoon in Scotts Valley (medium-sized mountain town), in
one (admittedly large) parking lot, I saw Miatas in white, red, Merlot,
and Montego in the space of about an hour.  Then across the road at
K-Mart I saw a red with a hard top and about took a stroke!  Beautiful
day, warm but not not, sunny, and this clown has his/her hard top on.
Go figure!
