You asked: >I was wondering what will be long term parts availability for the >engine used in the Miata in '94 and '95. A lower horsepower engine was >used pre-'94 and an even high horsepower engine is used in the '96. >Questions: >1. How much parts commonalty is there between the '94/'95 engine and >its predecessors and successors? The Mazda 1.8L DOHC engine is the same from 1994-1996. The 1996 gets = more horsepower from electronics, not changes to the engine. The same = engine has been used in Ford Escort GT's, Mercury Tracer LTS, Mazda = Prot=E9g=E9, (I know I spelled it wrong, for some reason my mail editor = WON"T LET me type the right thing) since at least 1990 for Mazda and = starting in 1991 for Ford Mercury. I wouldn't worry too much about it.=20 Brian
