From: Mac Subject: Jackson Racing 1.8L header has ARRIVED! Date: Wed, 4 Oct 1995 13:14:53 -0400
Good news for you '94+ Miata owning speed freaks! Jackson Racing has just released its 1.8L header. Mine just arrived today via UPS. First Impression: It looks fantastic! The ceramic coating is very cool, should provide a lot of protection and heat retention. It is an equal tube lenght, tri-Y, increasing radius design. The main tubes are very swoopy, much like the headers you see on a F-1 car. All the bends are done on a mandrel machine and are very smooth. The flanges are thick CNC machined and one piece. The header is also in 2 pieces to ease installation and the stock exhaust system is 2 pieces. It looks like the main flange will exactly fit the exhaust ports on the head. The primary tubes are welded smoothly with those ports so it should be an extremely smooth gas flow through this header with very little turbulence. In a word I love it and can't wait to install it. I was also sent a catalog from Japan that has all kinds of stuff in it. It is a "Eunos Only Roadster" "Road&Ster No.3" catalog. Has nice pics, but it is all in Japanese! I have tried everything, even holding the pring upside down and to a mirror, I still cannot read it. You won't believe the number of extremely ugly bodykits that are available for our little cars. But there are some very cool ones too! I count 40 different types of aftermarket exhaust systems in every different combination you can think of. The Japanese even have their own version of the sacred VooDoo Bob knob! For a mere 9,800 Yen. One of the neatest things in teh catalog is a little bracket for the front license plate that mounts it off to the side of the radiator opening that is by Tuckin'99. They also seem to have some very nice strut tower braces. Teh ugliest bodykit has got to be the one that makes the Miata looks like an old TVR Griffith called the Pit Crew Roadster. The most unusual 'Miata-like" body kit has got to be the one by Veil Side called the Roadster Combat Model with a rear bat wing. Hey Jay, why is their a mixture of English and Japanese in this catalog? So if you have a '94+ Miata you can now call Jackson Racing or the Dealer Alternative and get another go-fast goody for your car. I hear the Cold-Air kit will be available in a few weeks. There have been lots of changes that had to be made to the 1.8L Cold-Air. None of the parts from the 1.6L Cold-Air kit fit. Now that the header is out of developement and into production Jackson will have more time to devote to the Cold-Air. -Mac. '95 Montego Blue - Leather soon sportin' a cool new header
