Black is listed as an available color along with the other colors for that year. No other Limited Edition, Special Edition or M edition Miata has ever been listed in a brochure. The MAZDA BUYERS GUIDE by John Matras(Motorbooks) refers to the black 1992 Miata as follows: "Tan leather came standard inside, along with a tan vinyl top. An AM/FM stero with casette player, power windows, and power steering were included as was a new *Option Package C*, including BBS forged alloy wheels, a Nardi wood shift knob, wood handbrake lever, stainless steel doorsill scuffplates, cruis control, power atenna, and head rest speakers. List price for the "brilliant black" Miata, available on "open order" (not limited or special) was $17,500 with the other usaual Miata options also available." The 1992 brochure backs this up by listing the option package C as available only with black Miata) Another problem was the Dealers refering to this Miata as limited or special when trying to sell them. My salesman try to tell me that my red 93 C package was a special edition. Now let me say that I agree with you in that it *should* of been a special edition, but according to the brochures and the buyer's guide it is not. It is however, the first and only year to have a Package C with BBS wheels, wood handles, scuff plates and all the other goodies :) Chris Lambert / MCA Capital Chapter Red 93C / MR MIATA lic. plate "Miatas Across America in '99" --------------------- Forwarded message: From: JGROAT@wsmr-emh81.army.mil (John R. The 1992 Brilliant Black with tan interior WAS a special edition Miata. This fact has often been overlooked by many non-owners/columnists, but surely it should be corrected and recognized here.
