From: gfs2@cornell.edu (Greg Shaw) Subject: Outdoor winter storage? Date: Thu, 5 Oct 1995 20:00:59 -0400
Hi I need some opinions from those of you with either theories or expereince in storing your Miatas or other cars out doors. I will be taking my miata off the road when the snow (or more importantly the first salt) arrives. I will also have to leave the car outside this winter. I also have space problems and it would be easiest for me to leave the car on the lawn. I have a good quality cover so I am not too concerned with the appearance of the car. My question is, is there a moisture problem with leaving a car on grass? The lawn and soil will probably freeze sometime in december. Should I place plastic under the car? Or would this hold moisture closer to the car? Should I be carefull to remove snow from around it or doesn't it matter if its pretty cold out. Any opinions on these issues? Greg
