Pre Sebring miles: (I bought the car used as a toy/testbed that has since become my daily driver) 6/4/94 - 12/23/94 6319 miles, 243 gal, $296.77, Avg $1.22 gal; 26 MPG; worst 22.73 MPG, best 32.07 MPG Post Sebring miles: (interestingly the same mpg as Eric) 12/23/94 - present (10/6/95) 15769 miles, 602 gal, $815.44, Avg $1.36 gal; 26.2 MPG; worst 20.13 MPG, best 32.59 MPG Two observations as to the higher mpg with the Sebring 1) I moved to PA from NC in 3/1/95, I think the altitudes are about the same, but my daily commute is now on a highway instead of back roads. The higher mpg should be attributed to less city driving. 2) Candoo muffler was installed mid June, originally I was seeing about a 2 mpg increase, but now it appears to have leveled off. I have been using a baffle off and on, and suppose it may have had an effect. Originally I was seeing 0-60 times around 7.3 seconds. Recently it has slipped to 7.9-8.2 sec. I do not know why. (car has nearly 100k miles, plugs have 9k miles, wires have 15k and are supposed to be long life, oxygenated fuel may be in effect, timing at 10 degrees with MSD retarder, am running a tank treated with Techron since a couple of mornings of stumbling starts... Techron seems to have stopped the stumbling and infrequent detonation, I have not 0-60'ed since on Techron) Incidentally, there is clutter around the intake filter as the cruise control, hoses, and mount point effectively obstruct 2/3 of the available area (the part that is open faces the exhaust manifold). I am tempted to relocate the cruise control actuator and reroute some hoses to provide less restricted area around the filter. After clearing that path I might consider an NACA duct.
