In a message dated 95-10-05 10:01:03 EDT, you write: > >Has anyone ever put the starter button in his/her Miata? I read about it >in a magazine and it seems very interesting. With the setup consists of >toggle switch and the circuit wired in the ignition you can either turn the >key to the normal position and press the button to start up engine or use >the key as usual. I'm wondering whether it'll be wired into the alarm as >it might be the weak piont in the engine immobilization. > >My ultimate setup would be a steel panel that covers the 1.5 DIN size space >below the head unit with starter button, analog clock, engine immobilizer >key slot, oil temp metre, and volt metre. > > Dennis (^_^; I didn't see what you are talking about. But I have seen people put one of the old "high beam" floor switchs on the floor and use it as a kill switch. You just tap it with you foot before you get out and and the car can't be started. (Unless of course someone can figure out what the switch on the floor is for.) Tap it again when you get back in and you're ready to go. Ken '92 (yellow) Sundance
