    Jay Takahara speculates that the '96 M Edition will be (deep) Satellite 
Blue, as on a current Limited Edition Miata in Japan.  I think that is a 
very good bet. The color is really gorgeous, and it is already in 
production.  I would bet against their using the bright red leather 
interior, though.  I do remember hearing Tom Matano say that blues are his 
favorite colors for the Miata, when someone asked him (in February at 
Chicago Show) about future Miatas and his predictions. 
   My own choice for the '97 M Edition would be the metallic bright yellow 
that was on the 1993 RX-7 R1.  That was a head-turner, and I don't think 
that color was ever used on any other Mazda.
   There is reason to expect that future Miatas will come in  more special 
variants and limited models.  Probably that will really get rolling in '97.
