You people are a bunch of whiners!

Granted a higher speed limit to commute in CA would be nice, but ever try driving 55 in New Mexico????
Tumbleweed on your right, tumbleweed on your left.
It's a 3 hour tour at 70mph from Las Cruces to Albuquerque-imagine at 55mph how long it would take.
Scary.

Sounds like the "plain" states with no traffic need the higher speeds than the CA commuters.
At least you have other drivers to make life more interesting.
