WAY TO GO JOHN!!! I *KNEW* it was just a .SIG line and NOTHING more... Now, don't you all feel a little silly (Roseanne) for taking a small weed and calling the air force in to kill it with a nuclear bomb? Gracious. >> Soap Box re-stowed under my desk << kjw & TIC-TAC ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: TO EVERYONE.. FROM JOHN Author: john.scudder@kandy.com (JOHN SCUDDER) at INTERNET Date: 11/2/95 1:48 AM Hello my fellow Miata users.... Today I finally read my mail.. after being away for some tests I was having.. and wow... I seemed to have sparked a lot of feelings.. and.. in many cases.. rightfully so. It appears that because of a tagline to my sig file, my driving has been associated with: 1. Recklessness 2. Possibly hurting innocent people who are attempting to drive sane. 3. Driving as if other cars on the road were "cones". 4. Possessing a great amount of tickets because of my driving. 5. Having an exorbitant car insurance rate because of my driving. 6. Repetative messages that have caused some to just delete my mail without response.. tagging me as some sort of goofball. This does not include personal mail I have received to my internet address. {GULP}. Please allow me to share something with you... 1. I am a registered nurse, and have a great respect for human life.. mine.. and others especially.. and have devoted my life to that. 2. I have had no tickets in over 10 years.. or more (can't remember the last one). 3. I drive approx. 140 miles a day. 4. I have a great respect for others on the road, and usually drive "with the flow of traffic" except on this one certain stretch of highway... called the Camp Pendelton stretch... open road... where I "opened her up" under safe conditions. (the Flow of traffic is 75 to 80 mph.. ok. ok.. 20 mph less than a "few time top" of 100 mph). 5. I have one of the lowest insurance policies... with all the "good driver" rates. 6. Drive 5 mph down my "block" so that in case there is a child present, there is ample time for stopping/manuvering. 7. My car is well maintained... 3 coats of wax.. .pampered levels (haven't put that water wetter in yet! grin!)... and tire pressures at 28 psi. Sure.. I have driven fast intermittantly... and yes... my white miata.. with it's mouth and leather. does resemble a shark to me.. but.. well... I am not the reckless individual that I have been painted here on this network. Aside from the outlook that the Miata is a sports car.. and that I have indeed "opened her up" at choice times.. the most important thing that is bothering me is my example to you all. Had I known that my SPEED post would cause you all this pain.. and.. even possible separations of friendships.. I would have long ago named my Miata.. snowflake.. who.. couldn't hurt a fly, and.. never have posted speed references. Also.. I would not want to "sponser" driving over the speed limit, whether we actually can adhere to it or not. Regarding my mail.. multiple posts for the same things... well, I have had great difficulty with my internet provider, and have recently dropped them and have once again started using my old account elsewhere. Many messages were not received by me (corrupted QWK packets), and then I had a problem with my qwk mail reader... all in all... I have had to request info sometimes 3 to 4 times because I never got an answer.. or.. mail was sent later and dupes were generated. UGG. SO.. the bottom line... Don't speed excessive of the traffic you are in.. and.. always operate your vehicle in a safe manner.. being mindful of others. Don't jump to conclusions about individuals... their character, as you may regret what you type today.. tomorrow. I wish you all happy motoring in your Miata's.... Sincerely... John and his newly named Miata.. Snowflake... >From Sunny California... in the City of Oceanside.. john.scudder@kandy.com --- =FE SPEED 2.00 [NR] =FE Jumping to conclusions.. one giant step for = mankind?
