Here we go ... Back to Basics. "Low-tech question of the day ...." After reading "The New World According to Meguiar's" in the Garage section of the Miata.net main page, I've learned enough of the basics required to bring back the 'original' shine of my Brilliant Black M* car (Miata). No more swirls and, why, sometimes I think "I [can even] see myself." However, in the Meguiar's write-up, equal weight is given to using both The Absorber, and 100% cotton terry cloths to DRY the car. Although I am comfortable applying and removing cleaners, polishes, and waxes with the terry cloths, I am not confident in using the terry cloths to DRY my 'lil Blackie. They don't seem quite absorbent, nor soft, enough for DRYING my 'lil Blackie. I notice that the Meguiar's "Brilliant Solutions" catalog recommends the Absorber for DRYING. Any testimonies in favor of the Absorber? Is it *really* "almost 3 times faster [at soaking up water]?" Or, will I be left with unbearable water marks similar to that left by other synthetic drying material? BTW, I picked up my terry cloths in one of those bulk packages from "Sam's Club." Yes, they're 100% cotton, but certainly not as heavy as the "Hi-Pile 100% Cotton Terry Towels" as hawked by my local mega-warehouse store. However, I will not that they are less than one-quarter the cost of the High-pile towels! Well, are they GOOD ENOUGH? *jeanne p fri 11/3 00:33a 92 blk/tan spl ed jppandes@ix.netcom.com "Missing the CA sun under which to drive topless at the end of a long workday." :-( "Oh well, that's what heaters are for!" :-> BTW: I can't help myself but take my turn, and jump on *my* soapbox and say, "Why, all along I thought the purpose of this Miata List was to share and exchange information relevant to our favorite toys, the M* car. I don't think I'm mistaken, but we would all be better off saving the philosophizing and personal judgements for other venues. Personally, I choose not to respond to the bantering and flaming, but we all have to admit that it *does* get quite unbearable at times." :-) I'd rather hear MORE about the myriad of ways we can ENJOY our MIATAs, rather than hear the owner's "diss" one another (and other, albeit non-Miata, cars)." :-) [Okay, I'll get down (off the soapbox) now.] *jp
