One further comment...

A couple of MCA members passed through here recently on the Shell 4000 rally
(in a '62? MG) with the Vintage Racing Club (of Calgary) and we discussed
this problem.  I believe both have '90 Miatas with various performance
modifications - one shakes, the other does not.  John Seigner says his does
not shake - he runs Yoko A509's - at least he did a couple of years ago when
I saw him at Race City in Calgary - 195-50-15 size.  Race City is a road
course of approximately 2.2 miles with 11 turns (revised recently so this
may not be correct).  Therefore, John has certainly not babied his Miata.

I also recall the long-term test that Road & Track did with the rear end
getting looser as the year wore on - ditto for me.  The shakes began within
the first year of ownership.

Anyone else with substantial success with solving the shimmy???
