Phredd, Had you been normally driving/braking previous to this incident? Was the road wet (go through a puddle or heavy rain)? I've had the brakes slip (for lack of a better term) when they were very wet. It took a little longer to stop until they dried. Is it possible one set of wheels were wet? Had the brakes been worked on? Maybe they had some grease left on the pad. As you mentioned that they were OK afterwards, it would not seem to be a problem such as low brake fluid (did you check that?) or lack of grease on the pad slide (also for lack of better terminology). If you find out what happened it would be good to post it for the rest of us "hot" drivers. Mike G. Del Val Miata Club 91 Red B
