I am seeing a trend here . . . Mine broke in the same spot a couple of years ago. Huh, sounds like your cowl piece did exactly what mine did, cracked at the last thingee on the passenger side! We glued the plastic back together and it was fine for several months (unless you looked real closely) until I caught a rock on the windshield and had to replace the windshield glass. Since we were doing that anyway and knew the cowl would have to come off, we opted to fix it right this time around. As I recall the, cowl piece was about $120 (that's including the +7 percent sales tax) and the "thingees" were another $4, or thereabouts (funny that they weren't included!). The little rubber strip is attached to the cowl piece and, thankfully, does not come separately. The whole deal just rests along the bottom of the glass and is not glued to it or anything. As I understand it, the purpose is to just keep the lion's share of the water and debris out, look nice and protect the edge of the glass from chips. I'm told that the edge of the glass is its weakest link and you must be *very* careful not to chip it, or you will start a crack for sure. You may be able to get a better price from Roebuck. I just got mine locally. Tommy's email address is tommy@ix.netcom.com. BTW, don't tell anyone that's his address, it's a secret! ;) (wink and grin!) Roseanne SoCal Red '90
