I can just about guarantee that this is not the case with my car. Although we bought it second-hand (maybe that's a good name for a red car: second hand rose) and I can't swear that it has never seen snow prior to my taking over its stewardship, it has been a southern California car and not likely to have spent much time in snow country. So long as I have had it (about 3 years), it has never seen any of the following: snow, ice, freezing temperatures or many consecutive nights outside of a garage (it went on a few roadtrips where it had to be parked outside, but only in the summertime and otherwise lives in an attached garage). OTOH, it *does* get a lot of sun exposure since I park it at work and don't use a car cover (Ee-gads!). I'll bet UV causes the decline of plastic too. :) Roseanne SoCal Red '90
