Yes, the Quarts combos are very good; the components work well together. The tweeters have greater clarity and imaging than most out there (in their price range, of course) but in my experience they need to be driven with a very clean amp if you have any sensitivity to a bright tweeter. I don't think it's excessive, especially when more is needed at speed in a top down Miata, but a harsh amp will be reproduced all too well by them. My #1 rule has always been to match components well. FWIW, I've upgraded the Quarts with AVI mids (NOT in the same price range) but kept the Quart tweeters (now augmented with super-tweeters), so I like them just fine. I'm changing the amp for the highs to a new, smoother one that's coming out soon, though. As always, YMMV, so listen to them first, and don't listen to our opinions! > It's hard to make the neighbors' windows rattle when I am playing Mozart... It can be done, but your neighbors probably wouldn't approve ("What is that crap?! Damned old farts!") Mike "Mozart Uber Alles"
