I experienced the following dialogue a few years ago:

Spouse:  Is that YOUR Miata out there?
Me:      Yes.
Spouse:  I'm LEAVING! 

I didn't see her again for 18 hours or so.
A few months later she called a lawyer.

She still tells me it's irresponsible, it's unsafe,
it's anti-family, etc. But she also tells me, almost
every time she gets to drive it, that she would
feel a lot better about it if she got to drive it
more often. Doesn't take a Feynman to figure
*that* one out. Let your spouse drive your Miata.
If he or she totals it, buy another.
