Mazda Motorsports (a.k.a. Mazda Competition Parts Dept., mentioned before on the list, 1-800-435-2508 or FAX: 714-727-6493) sells the following items: Tokico Illuminas for $96.40 (quoted list of $135.00) KONI adjustables for $99.00 (quoted list of $138.60) They don't keep HPs in stock and the guy I talked to strongly recommended KONIs over the Tokicos. He felt the Tokico valving was too harsh for street use, even on the softest setting. This comparison may have been made on the list before, but has anybody experienced both flavors of Miatae: KONI and Tokico. I have heard from several _very_ satisfied Tokico owners but not anybody with experience with both. Mazda Motorsports requires a membership which is free to racers that provide (or promise to provide) three sets of _printed_ race results (showing standings, sanctioning body, etc.). Just about any organized racing will do (SCCA, Porsche Club, BMW Club, CART / IRL, etc.). In addition to competition parts (bars, springs, cams, etc. from Mazda and "other"), they will sell you any Mazda part that could conceivably be required for racing. For instance, they will sell you sheet metal if you are racing wheel- to-wheel stuff, but not if you only run Solo II. Their prices beat just about anybody's but I can't yet speak for their service (although the tech rep to whom I spoke seemed pretty knowledgeable). The reason for the race results / membership requirement is that they don't want to take business away from your local Mazda dealership unless you really do use the discount prices to help your Mazda beat Brand X (or should I say Brand N) at the track.
