It was only going to be a few hundred miles over, but I was concerned because I knew to absolutely *not* to put off that kind of service on our previous car, a 944. They said it would not do any damage because the valves have enough clearance of the pistons in this motor. But of course, if it broke it would leave me stranded by the roadside. All this is assuming that this service rep was telling the truth. I have no reason to doubt the information since they had always been straight with me before.
