Hey was that company Autocraft??   The pattern they use for the Miata tops
they sell come from the top that was slashed on my '91 (Izabella).  I used to
manage an auto upholstery shop (Rayco) some time ago.  Autocraft makes some
very good tops.  Before I decided to go with canvas,  they needed my old top
to make a pattern because they hadn't ever made a canvas top for a Miata yet.
This was way back in May of '91 (the car was two weeks old).  I was told that
they were going to use my old top to make patterns for both vinyl and canvas
tops.  The patterns are different because vinyl stretches more than canvas.
