Just an addendum to my previous post.

As I was reading the Consumer Reports 1996 Buying Guide, I came across 
this entry for the Mitsubishi 3000 GT:

"With all-wheel drive and twin turbo-chargers, this technological 
showpiece is fast and furious.  But it's pricey--and not as much fun to 
drive as a Mazda Miata.  The more basic versions are nothing special.  
Similar: Dodge Stealth."

Too bad they didn't list the Dodge Viper.  I would have loved to read 
what they had to say about that car!
