From: "Peter Park" Subject: Anti-Lock Brake Malfunction Light Comes on Very Aperiodically Date: Tue, 2 Jan 1996 00:53:08 -0500
The "ANTI-LOCK" warning light in my 94 M Edition comes on about once every couple of months, stays on until I turn the car off; possible comes on a second time next time I drive, then goes away for a month or so? Any esperience/suggestions? BTW: Have noticed articles in paper that Major Insurerers will/have dropped discount for owners of ANTI-LOCK brake equipped cars. Claim experience has proved to be no difference (read less) for anti-lock brake equipped cars. The theory is that since people are not used to the pulsating sensation that one feels when they activate, that people defreat them by trying to pump the brakes or take their foot off because of the unatural feeling. The correct way, of course, it to apply pressure and maintain it (read STOMP on it and HOLD it in in an emergency). Peter Alexandria, VA
