I have removed my original soft top (to have the zipper replaced when it wore 
out) and reinstalled it myself.  Plan on spending an entire day and have a 
large place (like an extra garage bay) to set the top down on.  Removing the 
seats is an exelent idea.  The instructions in the Mazda shop manual are 
complete enough and the job is not very technical but it is a long job with 
many details.
