Well, as the title says, my search for a MX5 is now over. I have been lurking around on this list for a while now, but had to be pretty quiet due to my lack of "God's car!". Well, no more!! As of 29/12/95, there is a MX5 in my driveway. After looking for about 6 months (in Brisbane, Australia), I finally settled on a 91 BRG. This model was also a limited run here, of 300. Mine is #183. The OZ spec BRGs come with tan leather interior, CDplayer, wooden gearknob, BRG hardtop, SS sill plates, headrest speakers, aircon and the std Mazda alloys. It also has a Momo wheel as std. #183 was built in Dec90, but first registered in 4/91. The car has 17600kms (or 11000mls) on it so has hardly been used. Original Bridgy 325 (which are a bit hard now, very oversteery when I drove it yesterday, but still perfectly catchable). Only additions to the car are a set of US spec badges (with Miata on them), Miata floormats, Front mudflaps and racing beat boot spoiler and also a custom cover for the hardtop (he went to the trouble of making a quilted cover for the hardtop). Anyway, I just had to ramble on a bit to someone. If anyone has any comments or tips to pass on, please feel free to. Oh yes, the price was about $3k more than I was willing to go to for one, but being a BRG I made the sacrifice. It was $29k (Australian) which is about $21k US. And the best part is that Mazda Australia quoted me A$40k for the value of the car, and my insurer has it insured for A$38k. Why did I get it cheap?? I wonder that too!! But the previous owner did not realise the value of the BRG, $29k would be a decent price for a red MX5 with 17600kms. The day after delivery, I was offered A$40k cash by someone who wanted a new MX5 (but did not think it was worth A$48k) but bought a CRX instead. He just sold the CRX after a couple of months saying "it is crap!". TEd (who now has to change his .sig to suit the additional car) -- ############################################################################# SSSS X X TTTTTT CCCCC S S X X TT C ted@dpi.qld.gov.au SSSS XX ---- TT C looit@dpi.qld.gov.au SSSS XX ---- TT C S S X X TT C SSSS X X TT CCCCC "TALK TO ME" or ... # Coma??
