Brian asks about clutches:

When I sold turbos to 1.6 owners I always told them they would probably get
by with stock for a while so they could recover from the turbo purchase.  I
have had to next day a Centerforce to every 1.8 turbo owner so far.  Seems
like the first time you reach full boost in third gear the clutch goes
away--no hole shots required to kill it.  The 1.8 does have a different
clutch than the 1.6, I don't think it is that there is any great hp diff
between the two, just a worse clutch design on the 1.8.  
The Centerforce dual friction II seems to do the job fine, plus its use is
transparent. No heavier pedal feel. We stock them.
