I bought a ski rack for my Miata six years ago in Edmonton, the home of =
the Dekker.  It clamps to the trunk lid (boot lid in Canadian) on the =
drivers side, and has very little effect on the paint.  Two pair of skis =
are carried at about a 30 degree angle to the ground so that they just =
clear the top.  I can lower the top with my 207 cm skis on the rack and =
it does not hamper trunk openning without the skis on.  Stability is =
fair to good.  The rack is made by PIPER in SanCarlos California.  (Go =
