Now that my car is stored safe and cozy for the winter, I have time to read this list again...So, In case 10,000 other people haven't already replied to this message directly: (I'm posting this to the list for other folks who might be new to to the list or simply haven't heard of this one before) This is a simple problem to solve. When you take the door panel apart (including peeling back the clear plastic liner, which is held on by lots of icky stuff that looks like tar), you'll find that a cable has popped off a clip in the door. This cable has a technical name that I have completely forgotten but I am sure that it could be found on the most excellent Miata.net web pages. In any case, this cable prevents the window from travelling down more than a few inches when it has become detached from the clip that holds it. It can be snapped back into place rather easily, but a more permanent fix is to cable-tie it into place. Of course, I am too lazy to do this because it means taking the door further apart and this only happens to me about once a year...so I just fix it and resolve not to wind the window up so hard next time! +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Marc Gorelick PMH Caramanning, Inc. | | mgorelick@aas.com Farmington Hills, MI | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+
