Well, maybe on the government test car (probably something *real* inspiring
like an '82 Dodge Aries K) there was no difference.

Or, perhaps the government statement was "no significant difference" rather
than "no difference." Either way, the performance numbers you've detailed are
minor, so I don't see any reason to get hot and bothered about it...

Now, on the balaced budget issue...THERE is something to get hot and bothered
about!   (and, let's NOT get into the balanced budget issue...)
