From: jeffyip@cyberspeed.com (Jeff Yip) Subject: 316-hp "miata" Date: Fri, 1 Mar 1996 17:38:45 -0500
Just when that other thread was beginning to die.... New AutoWeek landed, bringing news of a German-only "M" Z3. Euro M3 mill transplanted into the Z3 good for sub-6 second 0-62 km's and 155 mph. US version will have "cleaner" engine. body mods include flared rear wells, chrome exhausts, 5-spoke alloys. all backed by 6-speed. Same issue has topless Guldstrand (his 'market research'(?) didn't pick up that he wouldn't sell $100K GS-90s like hotcakes) and, ironically, coverage of a popular topless car with hardtop. (viper/GTS) perhaps neatest story is nina padgett, the vette writer, who's done a good piece on a community in Taos area built with used radials. dennis weaver and keith carradine among those who opted for the deluxe homes that cost closer to $80/sq.ft. than the 'starter' homes at $20. happy motoring. i'm off to san jose and menlo park for the weekend now that the snow has melted up near Gorman. (never bought chains for the miata) jeff who will use all 110 hp he can.
